They have a lot of additional, humanised support, like offering one-on-one mentorship and allowing re-allocation of fundings with respect to COVID-19. The staff were quick to answer our questions and difficulties with their all-rounded aid.

HER Fund has a large supporting network and they are really caring. They give professional services (such as filling out applications and making contracts) whenever we need them. From our perspective, they provide competent and humane counsel, such as suggesting systemic recording and consolidation of organisational data for future publicity and analysis. All of these have eased the workload of our frontline colleagues, allowing them to focus on their work.

The Association for the Advancement of Feminism (AAF)

The trainer (of Digital Security Training) is very good at addressing the power differences in a community, which is something very unique and usually only feminist group would aware of. I would definitely bring this into consideration when trying to deploy I.T. security measures within AAF's community.

Attending this workshop has broadened my understanding of gender perspectives. Prior to this, my understanding of gender was limited to identifying male and female individuals. However, I now recognise that gender is multifaceted and that various situations can present themselves simultaneously. I am grateful to HER Fund for raising awareness on the issue of gender and allowing more people to be informed. Thank you to everyone involved.

When I first started training, I was in a chaotic state. Previously, I left Hong Kong for 4 years. After I came back, I felt that there was very little space to calm myself down. I am grateful to have that open space in the workshop, which can also be counted as work hours. Today I realised that, my body is powerful, and I can use my imagination to empower myself.

Hearing others’ words is different from listening. My partner often says that I have not listened. After practice, I start to identify the anxiety and needs in the same speech I heard before. Regardless of your position, you should speak your own ideas and listen, otherwise the group would have differences and distrust.
