Little by little, it laid a solid foundation for resilience to take place and bring changes over the past two phases of Transformative Feminist Leadership programmes (TFL). On 12 December 2020, HER Fund held a sharing session on building transformative leadership among marginalised communities and shared the results of TFL programmes with over 50 participants who are committed to empowering organisational leadership. The session adhered to the training that emphasises the characteristics of community participation and focuses on physical and mental well-being. One of the participants, Janis from Tin Zi Zok Wai, was a facilitator who used a singing bowl to lead everyone in practising mindfulness and relaxation, taking care of each other’s state of mind during the pandemic.
After that, Carmen, the co-chairperson of Alliance for Children Development Rights, shared her transformation after participating in the two-phase programme, as well as her observations on organisational leadership and work culture. The other two guests, Yu Jai, who is the Founder of the Hong Kong Domestic Workers General Union and the Hong Kong Federation of Asian Domestic Workers Unions (FADWU), and Sarah, a social entrepreneur, also had the opportunity to exchange their views on leadership.
Looking back on the journey along the way, HER Fund and all participants believe that only through resilient leadership can we cope with the constantly changing social environment. Looking forward, as the programme will become more localised and tailored to the needs of the community, leadership with a gender perspective is sure to help organisational leaders exert their influence in different positions, enabling them to make further progress in advancing gender equlity.
