Undertaking the first phase of training, 20 members from six organisations further deepened their learning and broughtTransformative Feminist Leadership into practice in their organisations In addition to having organised two in-person events to promote learning and provide operational experience, HER Fund has also made grants to organisations participating in the programme so that organisers can have the resources to practice what they have learned.
The second phase of the funding project includes: “Core Neighbourhood Rehabilitation and Communication Workshop” by Tin Zi Zok Wai, “The power of tenderness – Women Leader Caring Programme” by Virtuous Lady Club, “Mindful Pitstop” by Tin Shui Wai Community Development Network, “Neighbors and team members, let’s go together” by Concern for Grassroots’ Livelihood Alliance, “Women Have Words” by Les Corner, and “Sustainable TEFO” by the TEFO.
Most of these organisations hope that after understanding fully themselves and their organisations, they can apply leadership from a gender perspective in real-case scenarios so that they can improve their relationship with different team members, changing the working culture of the organisation from top to bottom. In order to provide sufficient support, HER Fund also matched each funded organisation with a mentor to share experiences, gather wisdom, and walk together in an environment that values communication.
Many of these organisations strived to apply TFL in real-life situations, once they had gained a deep understanding of themselves and their organisations, thus improving their relationships with diverse team members and transforming the organisation’s work culture from top to bottom. HER Fund provided additional support by pairing each funded organisation with a mentor who shares expertise, gathers insights, and walk together in an environment that values communication.
Participants in the second phase acquired various communication knowledge and collaboration skills, and more importantly, by listening to their physical and mental needs, they could look back on their original intention of engaging in organisational work, regain the courage to face themselves, and establish a caring and trusting relationship with others. This makes the relationship between members and community members become more harmonious, glueing the organisation together.
They have come to believe that everyone can be a leader if the organisation creates space for each individual to demonstrate their inner strength. A leadership model that empathises, embraces diversity, and can exercise power appropriately will help organisations to get rid of the limitations brought by traditional patriarchy and drive social change through a humanistic management.

" I am very happy to have more self-awareness and connections between team members. Different people learn from each other and grow together, creating chemistry. I see courage in them, and also the possibility of change through the period of running-in. "

VOLUNTEER" The organisation must take care of the soul in order to be complete. Back then, we were used to a linear way of thinking, but now I feel that I have to return to myself. Like a circle - I need to push forward an all-rounded way of humanistic work … Find my own rhythm and find my inner strength. The road seems to be whirling while everyone can sort out their dreams, find out the possibility to move forward together, and gain something collectively.”
